The new trophy will stand proudly alongside the Men’s Scottish Cup, a trophy that is already 150 years old. Both trophies are of similar weight and height, with two handles, a large plinth and a lid with a finial.
The 67cm-tall trophy will be lifted for the first time on Sunday, 28 May when the Women’s Scottish Cup Final takes place at Hampden Park. Rangers take on Motherwell on Saturday in the first Semi-final, with Glasgow City and Celtic facing off on Sunday.
The competition was revamped for this season, marking the latest step in the Scottish FA’s bespoke women’s football strategy, Accelerate Our Game. The strategy launched in 2021, with the vision to harness the power of women’s football, by changing perceptions, and empowering people to inspire the nation, transform lives and build an inclusive, respected and successful game.
