In recent years, the world of esports has exploded onto the global stage. Worldwide competitions of high stakes championships, intense rivalries and unforgettable moments have formed. Alongside this rise, Thomas Lyte has made its mark.
As British master silversmiths and Royal Warrant holders to His Majesty the King Charles III, we’ve spent much of the last decade creating some of the most iconic trophies in international sport. In esports, our story continues to evolve with the growth of the industry, shaped as much by the boldness of our clients as by the precision of our craft.
When organisations such as BLAST, the Esports World Cup Foundation, FIFA, UEFA, and Riot Games choose Thomas Lyte, they place their faith in the hands of master goldsmiths and silversmiths. They are looking for a trophy company able to combine meticulous craftsmanship with imaginative design. As a result, we strive to create silverware that embodies the spirit of competition that stand with confidence alongside the most celebrated prizes in sport.
In 2025, BLAST Esports commissioned Thomas Lyte to design and make the trophies and medals for the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) and Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS).
The first trophy to be unveiled was the RLCS Birmingham Major. The trophy immediately introduced the weight and prestige of the championship series’ to come. The design called for a design that could capture Rocket League’s speed and energy. The result was a handmade trophy in sterling silver with 24-carat gold-plated accents and expert engraving. A true combination of traditional silversmithing techniques and modern manufacturing. Alongside it came a collection of bespoke medals, each designed to be worn with pride and kept as a lasting symbol of achievement.

Following the success of the RCLS Birmingham Major, the second trophy in our collection travelled stateside for the FNCS Pro/Am on California. Fortnite is a first-person, battle-royale. Players fight it out to be the last one standing, all while the ‘arena’, or map, slowly shrinks. At the FNCS Pro/Am, each team in California is in competition for a share of a $500,000 prize pool. The competition saw elite gamers, celebrities and influencers alike battle it out for the inaugural FNCS Trophy.
The Rocket League action moved to the RLCS Raleigh Major, North Carolina. A recognisable silhouette, the Raleigh Major trophy features a bespoke red plinth, and otherwise mirrors it’s sibling, the Birmingham Major trophy. Subsequently, both series will come to a climax at the respective Championship Series finales in Lyon, France.
The Esports World Cup Club Championship Trophy has been a proud Thomas Lyte commission. In 2023, the Esports World Cup Foundation turned to us to create a prize that could reflect the competition’s ambition and diversity.
The trophy was created using a combination of traditional skills and advanced prototyping techniques like 3D design and printing. Standing at 60 cm and weighing over 9 kg, the sterling silver and 24-carat gold plated design features a crown atop a globe. It also features unique, interlocking triangles creating a palm tree inspired totem. This innovative design was the inspiration the competition’s iconic key system. It’s a trophy who’s stature increases with each passing year. A celebration of not just victory, but the growing legacy of esports on the global stage.

Following a rebrand, Riot Games chose Thomas Lyte to bring prestige to their silverware with the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) trophy. Made in our London workshops by our master goldsmiths and silversmiths, it embodies the spirit of competition and the pride of being crowned Europe’s best.
DesignStudio were the LEC’s chosen designers. While Thomas Lyte’s master craftsmen provided the expertise to turn the design into a custom trophy of stunning silver. The inspiration for the trophy was the format of the tournament itself. Each of the ten teams are represented by an individual column, which ascend in a spiralling motion until one rises to the top.

Looking back, we designed and made the original League of Legends Summoner’s Cup (2012-2022). It was one of the very first world championship trophies made for esports. The Cup was the ultimate symbol of League of Legends mastery, as well as representing incredible artistry. Made primarily of brass, with silver and gold plating, and accented with brilliant flashes of blue provided by optical lead crystal, it took our specialist silversmiths and goldsmiths over 300 hours to construct.
When first finished, the Summoner’s Cup weighed in at 32kg, making it one of the heaviest trophies ever produced by Thomas Lyte. The trophy was so heavy that Thomas Lyte were asked to reduce it, which we subsequently achieved. This may surprise some LoL Worlds champions, but for the majority of its lifetime, The Summoner’s Cup weighed half its original weight.
For FIFA, the world’s most popular sport doesn’t end on the pitch. The FIFAe World Cup brings together the best players in the virtual game.
Our workshops were naturally approached to create the trophy, with the understanding that the silverware needed to feel every bit as significant as it’s footballing counterpart. Our British silversmiths and designers responded by crafting a piece that embodies both tradition and innovation.
Handmade in our London workshops, the FIFAe World Cup Trophy is forged in sterling silver with gold accents, its bold lines and clean geometry reflecting the digital world it represents. It is a symbol of esports football at its highest level, proving that digital football deserves silverware every bit as prestigious as the real-world game.
From the Esports World Cup to the prestige of the FIFAe World Cup, the LEC, the Summoners Cup, and now our explosive partnership with BLAST, Thomas Lyte has emerged as the trusted trophy company for modern competitive gaming.
Our London workshops demonstrate that British-made silverware, with its fusion of art, legacy, and innovation, has become the pinnacle of esports ceremony on the global stage.
We have selected a number of case studies that demonstrate the broad range of our capabilities designing and making in precious metals.
