Thomas Lyte are proud to be the official trophy and gift suppliers to the League Managers Association (LMA). As part of our partnership Thomas Lyte provide stunning hand-crafted trophies for the LMA’s showpiece end-of-season event, the LMA Annual Awards Dinner.
Designed and crafted in our London-based silver workshops, the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy was introduced as a celebration of Sir Alex Ferguson’s phenomenal career and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the LMA Manager of the Year award. Our ongoing partnership with the LMA is another demonstration of Thomas Lyte’s passion for building long-term rewarding relationships with our partners.
Kevin Baker, CEO of Thomas Lyte, said: “We are delighted to renew our partnership with the LMA and look forward to strengthening our relationships across the game. We share many of the same values as the LMA with our focus on leadership and quality. Thomas Lyte are proud to have ensured that many of Britain’s great football trophies such as The FA Cup and the Sky Bet Football League trophies have been crafted by the most talented British craftsmen and their emerging apprentices.”
In addition to the Sir Alex Ferguson trophy, Thomas Lyte also create the awards for the remaining seven categories, including awards for the Sky Bet Championship, League One, League Two and Women’s Super League, Women’s Championship and The LMA Special Merit Award.
Richard Bevan, Chief Executive of the LMA said: “The LMA is excited to be extending its partnership with Thomas Lyte. Thomas Lyte is a globally recognised brand with an established reputation across the world of sport and especially football. The quality and bespoke contemporary design of the trophies for our Annual Awards Dinner is always exceptional and something our winning members will treasure for years to come. We look forward to continuing to develop the partnership.”
Royal Warrant holders as Goldsmiths and Silversmiths to her Majesty the Queen, we at Thomas Lyte have deep associations with football and are the official trophy supplier to The FA, having hand-crafted the current Emirates FA Cup in 2014. To mark the 50th anniversary of the LMA’s Manager of the Year award, Thomas Lyte also handmade 50 commemorative medals, which were handed out to the previous winners of the award, or a family representative, at the organisation’s end of season celebration in May 2018.
For a man who has won everything there is to win in football, Sir Alex Ferguson took enormous pride in having the LMA Manager of the Year trophy named in his honour. Sir Alex said: “It is a fantastic honour and I am very proud to have the LMA Manager of the Year trophy named after me. When you look at the list of managers that have won this trophy going right back to 1968 it is very humbling and a reminder of the various winners’ achievements.”
