A special commemorative dish has been designed and crafted by Royal Warrant holders to His Majesty the King Charles III, Thomas Lyte. Commissioned by photography giants, Nikon, the dish was created in celebration of the 40th anniversary of British partners, Grays of Westminster.
The dish features stunning engraving detail, with commemorative text in both English and Japanese, highlighting our truly global reach and precision craftsmanship.
Gray Levett is the founder of Grays of Westminster, a multi-award-winning photography shop. From the outset, he pursued one vision; creating the world’s finest camera shop. Over forty years, Gray built a trusted partnership with Nikon and continues selling their products exclusively at his Pimlico shop.
The relationship between Nikon and Grays has flourished. Therefore, to mark the anniversary, Nikon’s President and COO, Mr Muneaki Tokunari, contacted our London workshop. He wished to commission something truly bespoke, honouring their forty-year partnership. Consequently, our craftsmen created a one-of-a-kind dish, engraved with intricate detail and a message celebrating their bond.

After our goldsmiths crafted and engraved the bespoke dish, it underwent our rigorous, in-house quality checks. Thus, we ensured the piece upheld our exacting standards and would stand the test of time.
A pristine, high-polish finish highlights the custom design’s motifs. Meanwhile, it allows light to glide gracefully across the engraved text.
As leaders in silverware photography, we set out to capture the piece with clarity and elegance. At our London workshops, a dedicated photography space enables us to create striking images of bespoke trophies, custom medals, and artisanal commissions.
Over many years, our in-house photography team have used exclusively Nikon cameras to photograph our silverware creations. Photographing this commemorative dish was no exception. If you would like to view more examples of our established photography work, click here to view our trophy gallery.
We have selected a number of case studies that demonstrate the broad range of our capabilities designing and making in precious metals.
