Ahead of the 2025 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, the ICC collaborated with master silversmiths and trophy makers, Thomas Lyte, to release a behind the scenes video. The video gives a unique look into the making process and includes interviews with Thomas Lyte Director, Andrew Jones, alongside many of Thomas Lyte’s master smiths.
We welcome you into our purpose-built, fine-silver workshop in the heart of London to give a behind the scenes look at how we made the ICC Champions Trophy. Showcasing many of our workshop processes, the video gives you a look behind the curtain at our master silversmith’s craft. The video features soldering, filing, polishing, and engraving, highlighting above all, the journey from our workshop benches to the final delivery of an elite trophy.
Made in our purpose-built, London-based silverware workshop, the ICC Champions Trophy is more than just an trophy; it is a statement of cricketing supremacy. An honour that only the world’s best teams can attempt to claim. As bespoke trophy makers, the trophy was subject to our meticulous silversmithing processes.
These involve hand-spinning, expert polishing, and detailed engraving. Subsequently, we can ensure that the trophy not only stands as a testament to the tournament’s rich history but also serves as a lasting legacy for future champions. Now affected with the craftsmanship of Thomas Lyte, the trophy carries an enhanced sense of prestige, making it an increasingly coveted prize among cricket’s elite.
As anticipation was building for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy tournament, the most prized possession of all embarked on a global trophy tour. Visiting countries with both rich cricketing heritage and emerging nations, the trophy will be showcased around the world. Having been passed through, starting it’s journey at our London workshop, this bespoke trophy now carries a greater significance as it travels across continents, inspiring future champions before it is finally lifted by the best team in ODI cricket.
We have selected a number of case studies that demonstrate the broad range of our capabilities designing and making in precious metals.
