Thomas Lyte are Goldsmiths and Silversmiths to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and have been granted the honour of a Royal Warrant, awarded through our Grantee, Kevin Baker, Thomas Lyte’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Granted for the first time in 2015, The Royal Warrant recognises Thomas Lyte’s status as a supplier and restorer of gold and silverware to the Royal Household since 2008 and our commitment to exceptional service and quality.
The Royal Warrant is a mark of recognition for people or companies that regularly supply goods or services to the Households of Her Majesty The Queen or His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. The practice dates back to the 15th century. There are fewer than 850 Royal Warrant Holders worldwide, representing a huge cross-section of trade and industry. These range from traditional craftspeople to global and multinational firms. Thomas Lyte design, make and restore silver and gold décor for the Royal Household’s military and private residences. We take enormous pride in the quality of our work. Everything that leaves our workshops must meet or exceed our company-wide expectations. Only with these underlying values and this level of dedication will Thomas Lyte retain our position as the best goldsmiths and silversmiths in the world.
The Royal Warrant Holders Association represents individuals and companies that hold Royal Warrants of Appointment. Formed in 1840, the association’s main objective is to ensure the continued existence of the Royal Warrant as a treasured and respected institution. The association enables social and commercial integration of its members. Meetings and activities include social and sporting events, visits to members’ businesses, and charitable fund-raising activities. At Thomas Lyte, we hold our relationship with the Royal Warrant Holders Association in high regard. We attend and contribute to events and interact with our fellow Royal Warrant holders every week. Together we champion the shared values of ethical craftsmanship and our commitment to a sustainable future.
Thomas Lyte donates 10% of all profits to The Thomas Lyte Foundation, a registered charity that inspires and supports emerging English artists, designers and craftspeople. Through our close relationship with the Chapel Royal at Hampton Court and St. James’ Palace, the foundation sponsors the Chapel Royal Organ Scholarship, an award that financially supports students who wish to gain experience in choral accompaniment, choir training and organ playing before, during or after their university or conservatoire course.
