Thomas Lyte are proud to be the designers and makers of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Medals. The medal design, as shown here, is gold-plated and features a cut-out section in the centre from which the World Cup logo bursts outwards, symbolising the energy and drama of the 20-over game.
Taking home the gold medals were England, who beat Pakistan by five wickets in a pulsating final in Melbourne to win the Men’s T20 World Cup and become double world champions. The win, thanks in large part to a superb bowling performance from Sam Curran and Adil Rashid, means England become the first team to hold both the men’s 20 and 50-over world titles. As luxury silversmiths based in London, England… we are not biased in the slightest!
Silver medals were crafted for the World Cup Runners-up, and a special bronze medallion was struck to recognise the achievements of the match officials who also played their part in a historic tournament final. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy itself was also crafted by Thomas Lyte.
Hand-made in our London workshop, the trophy, like the tournament itself, is an elegant fusion of the traditional and the modern. It’s also a piece of silverware that continues Thomas Lyte’s enduring relationship with the ICC, having also created the iconic World Test Championship Mace – still one of the most striking prizes in global sport.
