Inspired by his determination and grit, Thomas Lyte are honoured to be the designers and makers of The Manchester United Golden Boot Award, presented to Wayne Rooney to celebrate his 250th goal for the club.
On 7 January 2017, Rooney scored against Reading in the third round of the FA Cup to equal Sir Bobby Charlton as Manchester United’s top goalscorer of all time. Rooney’s goal was his 249th in 543 games for Manchester United, reaching the landmark in 215 matches and four seasons quicker than Charlton.
Presented by Sir Bobby Charlton himself, Wayne Rooney surpased the record with an injury-time freekick against Stroke on 21 January 2017.
