Since 1998, UEFA’s annual President’s Award acknowledges outstanding achievements that transcend the sport of football. The game changes, adapts and grows from year to year, and the award stands to recognise the innovators and leaders in those fields. At the start of each new European season, the award recognises professional excellence and exemplary personal qualities, on and off-the-field.
A Royal Warrant holder as silversmiths and goldsmiths to the Late Queen Elizabeth II, Thomas Lyte are world-renowned custom trophy designers and makers. With a portfolio including some of the most recognisable trophies in the global football world, including the Emirates FA Cup and the AFC Asian Cup. Thomas Lyte has a long-established relationship and reputation in the world of football.
Like many of the trophies and awards Thomas Lyte creates, the this award has it’s foundations in pride, recognising not only individuals, but teams alike.
Winners of the award include Sir Bobby Charlton, David Beckham, Didier Drogba and Simon Kjær, and the Copenhagen EURO 2020 medical team who came to the aid of Christian Eriksen who collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s Euro 2020 group game against Finland, saving his life with their quick thinking and expertise.
In addition to making the UEFA President’s Award, Thomas Lyte is proud to have designed and hand-crafted many of the sport’s other major prizes including the UCL, Europa and Europa Conference League Awards, the League Manager’s Association Awards and the AFC Player of the Year Awards.
