Thomas Lyte are the makers of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Medal. Supporting the evolution of sport is at the core of Thomas Lyte’s company vision – and in recent years our craftmanship has been brought to the rapidly growing world of eSports.
League of Legends, the globally successful multiplayer team game first published by Riot Games in 2009, is one of the largest eSports with various annual tournaments taking place worldwide. The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) is a regional European tournament which is divided into two annual splits, spring and summer. The winning team of the summer split qualifies for the annual League of Legends World Championship.
Thomas Lyte have worked closely with Riot Games’ Design Team, to create the medals for the champions of both events. Weighing 500g, and measuring 90mm in diameter and 10mm thick, eight medals are made for each victorious team. Each medal is stamped to create a unique decagon shape, with each of the ten competing team’s names engraved into each facet. A bespoke screen-printed ribbon is then attached, and the medal is then presented to the winners in a bespoke box.
Thomas Lyte’s London silver workshops are also responsible for the making of the League of Legends European Championship Trophy, and designing and making the Summoners Cup, the world-famous trophy lifted by the League of Legend world champions.
