Thomas Lyte are the restorers of the Heineken European Cup. After the trophy was damaged in 2012, Thomas Lyte undertook a complete restoration of the 1980s trophy and have continued to repair the cup in the intervening years.
Along with their work restoring the rugby trophy, Thomas Lyte were commissioned to craft a replica of the Heineken European Cup for the European Rugby Commitee.
This magnificent trophy is crafted from solid silver, combined with gold to convey a map of Europe and its constituent playing countries on the front of the cup. The importance of the 71cm tall trophy is further embedded in the lid of the cup as it is decorated with a circular ring of European stars.
Thomas Lyte has worked on the maintenance and restoration of many iconic sporting trophies, including the previous FA Cup before we created the most recent edition of the trophy in 2014.
