Thomas Lyte were the official restorers of the European Open Golf Trophy when it was resurrected in 2008.
To mark the re-staging of the tournament, Thomas Lyte were asked to restore and enlarge the existing trophy that dates back to the 1970s. Our silversmiths carefully replaced missing enamel flags, and added a new bespoke plinth to give the trophy a whole new look. This enlarged the trophy by 40cms.
Thomas Lyte subsequently made a half-size replica of the trophy for the winner in 2009, Frenchman Christian Cevaer.
