The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy was first played for in 2009 and has now established itself as one of the standout events in cricket’s global calendar. Thomas Lyte is proud of the role it has played in elevating the profile of a tournament that continues to wow audiences around the world. The tournament attracts huge crowds and is turning female cricketers into household names on a bi-annual basis.
A Royal Warrant holder as silversmiths and goldsmiths to the Late Queen Elizabeth II, Thomas Lyte are world-renowned custom trophy designers and makers. Having partnered with some of the world’s most well-known and respected sporting bodies, including the FA, UEFA, FIBA and the ATP and WTA, Thomas Lyte’s associations with the world of sport run deep. As do our roots in the world of cricket, evidenced by our work on silverware such as the ICC’s World Test Championship Mace. The ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup trophy is a further illustration of that. The trophy is also a reflection of the format’s incredible growth in recent years and the special place that the tournament has assumed in an increasingly hectic global women’s schedule.
This trophy for the women’s T20 World Cup was handcrafted by our team of specialists in our London workshop. Standing at 50cm in height, the women’s trophy was created with silver-plated base metal and brings together a number of separate metal castings. The result is one of the sport’s most iconic and striking pieces of silverware – one that will stand the test of time in a sport that continues to grow at an extraordinary rate.
In addition to designing and making the ICC T20 World Cup Trophies for both the men’s and women’s game, Thomas Lyte is proud to have designed and hand-crafted many of the sport’s other major prizes including the ICC Test Championship Mace, the Hundred Trophy, the Vitality Blast Trophy and the Kia Super League Trophy. Thomas Lyte also restores the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and designs and makes medals for a number off major ECB and ICC tournaments.
